We believe that taste is a personal thing and that there is no such thing as inherent good taste. However, we believe there is such a thing as good design – it’s the difference between style and fashion.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we believe that quality is intrinsic.  If an object is well designed and well built, it doesn't matter whether it's appearance is avant garde, contemporary or traditional.  It will have integrity that will flow from the fact that it is both practical and easy on the eye.
If we were asked to define the "Waterland style" it would be a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional forms, using appropriate materials. We want our buildings to be memorable, to be good neighbours, to be buildings that belong in their setting and, above all else, provide exactly the right environment for our client's needs.
